Coppergate Shoe

Handmade to Order

Coppergate shoes are replicas of footwear discovered during archaeological excavations at Coppergate in York, England, dating back to the Viking Age. These leather shoes offer insight into the craftsmanship and style preferences of the Norse inhabitants of the region during that era.

Our period historical leather shoes are made to order, although we do carry limited stock.

All of our historical footwear is made by hand to achieve an authentic, traditional look. We only use top quality, full grain cowhide and supply our shoes with removable insoles and thin rubber wear soles for grip & durability. Leather soles are available as an option.

Enquiries about other styles and periods are welcome.

Non standard designs welcome subject to time & workload.

Get in touch to discuss your period/historical leather shoe order.
